The green, white, and red of the Italian flag set the tone for the Ferrari horse logo, a subtle introduction of color against the bright yellow of the background. In an unusual method of carving, the horse is machined out after the rest of the cap protector is made instead of inlaying it into the yellow dyed English Holly before assembly.

In the background we see the bank of machinist lathes and other industrial machinery used in the main section of Richard's shop. Joint protectors for the finished cue, and some of the construction pieces involved are machined from genuine Ferrari wheel lug bolts.
